Intelligent Museum


Based on Radio Frequency Identification technology, IM is designed to protect Museum items with help of intelligent devices made of microcontrollers and motion sensors to sense any change in position of the secured item and sending varied information back to the Base (the other intelligent device capable of communicating wirelessly to Nodes).


Base communicates to PC (Control Panel) via Rs232 Interface keep control room aware of any movements in the Museum room and turning alarms of whenever secured items are tempered with out of allowed range of positions set by X, Y and Z axis.


Application also has facility to synchronize data to any Server around the world with Static IP via a normal internet line in form of active reports from the control room, only available for right people (administrators).


Main Features:

This section allows the user to use either of the options given below to Login:

The Main Window contains three main menus with further submenus as follows:


o         Nodes View

This section displays Active and Inactive Nodes. It also represents the node alarm signal if node signals ON the node will blink and nodes are plotted on form as their position in database which will be added through “Node Information” interface.

o         Green Nodes ( ) are Active Nodes

o         Red Nodes ( ) are Sleeping Nodes


o         User Logs

This section displays the number of attempts made by selected user to access this application using either of the options, Finger Prints or username/password.

The value of threshold will be set on node, if the position will changed the Alarm signal will ON and it will be ON until you will reset


§          Nodes Status

Here user can set the time for a specific node to be inactive. After this period, the Node will automatically get Inactive to save battery power.

This section is used to manage battery limit. Here user can manage the battery limits of the selected node in database as well as on node device so if the node battery level decreases from its current level the LED on node will be off. The current status Edit Box display the current node battery status which application drag from RFID node through base node communication.

BioAXS Data Replicator (Method of communication between Server and client PC)


It consists of two applications:

·          Data Up Loader

This application runs with the client module and uploads the data from client db to server db.


·          Data Synchronizer

This application runs with server modules and updates the client db according to the server db.


Web Module (Server Application)


Following are the interfaces of Forms:

·          Login Area

For navigation to application User has to enter the correct login and password.

·          Welcome Screen

After Correct login the user accesses the application with welcome message.

·          City management

In this interface user can create a city he/she belongs/requires or can update the existing city.

·          Node management

In this interface Bases and Nodes are being displayed, Nodes are being displayed against the specific bases. The user can then modify the state of the Node whether active or inactive.

·          Base management

In this Interface the Information regarding the base can be modified and added as well.

·          Group management

In this interface the new groups can be generated and modified as well. The specific rights are also assigned to the specific groups. After assigning the specific rights to some specific group this group will be able to access the assets of the web application provided.

·          Application User management

For using Application User Management interface the existing user can modify him/her information and the others as per given rights.

·          Region management

In this interface the regions can be added and modified as well.

·          Transfer Application users

In this interface application can be transferred to different bases. And these application users belong to some specific groups. In the following interface there are 2 different portions one is Application Users list which defines the total no. of users belonging to the specific group and these users are further assigned to the different existing bases.

·          Base Status

This interface displays the Active and Inactive bases.



Following are the interfaces of Reports sub module:

·          Base wise Active Nodes

In this report the total existing bases will be displayed and after clicking the specific base the data of a node against this specific base will be displayed.

Parameters are as under



·          Node Position Log (User wise)

In this specific report User will be able to get the information belonging to the nodes against the active bases.


·          Nodes Position Report

This report displays the positions of the selected node.

·          Current Position Report

The information regarding the Node’s current position will be occurred in this report Interface. The Active Nodes will be displaying in this interface and against each specific node the information of it can be got.

Technical Info:




RFIID base is the main controlling unit of all the nodes attached by adjusting then parameters on the node like threshold position and threshold battery level and also to take the current conditions of the node like its current position and battery level and displaying them to the user on a PC via serial port. This gives the user facility to remotely set the parameters and monitor the current condition of the node by just using the application running on the PC.


Moreover each node is uniquely addressable on the basis of the unique id being programmed into the node and thus base can communicate with 255 possible nodes attached to it on the basis of 255 unique id’s assigned to nodes.

RFIID node is a device used for securing valuables on the basis of the Intelligent Museum concept. The word RFIID instead of RFID indicates that our node is capable of doing two way RF communications; usually we don’t observe this feature in RFID tags. The node has fully adjustable position thresholds and battery level monitoring thresholds given by the base. The main purpose of the node is to monitor the position of the valuable being attached to and when its position is disturbed crossing the threshold limits, it activates the alarm signal which noticed by the base is shown on the monitoring screen.


Moreover to keep the node working efficiently in terms of battery life monitoring, it gives the user added facility to set the threshold battery level which should be the minimum permissible on the node and then monitor the current battery level so as to change the batteries when they get more weaker of the permissible threshold.
